It’s never safe to predict an Oscar contender four months before it hits theaters, but with a stunning cast, an Oscar winning director and a revered author, THE COUNSELOR is in great shape to find some award glory next Spring. Below you can find a few new images from the film as well as the first, short trailer for the dark tale. It’s not much to go on, but I’m giddy with excitement to see Ridley Scott’s brand of filmmaking collide with Cormac McCarthy’s trademarked, dark storytelling. And with a cast led by Michael Fassbender, this has all the makings of a classic. But…no pressure.
THE COUNSELOR follows a lawyer who gets in over his head when he starts getting involved in drug trafficking. Directed by Ridley Scott, THE COUNSELOR stars: Michael Fassbender, Javier Bardem, Brad Pitt, Cameron Diaz, Penelope Cruz, Natalie Dormer, Goran Visnjic, Dean Norris, John Leguizamo and Rosie Perez. THE COUNSELOR will hit theaters on October 25th, 2013.
