Playing for Keeps starring Gerard Butler and Jessica Biel coming to Blu-ray in March

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that the romantic comedy PLAYING FOR KEEPS, from director Gabriele Muccino and starring Gerard Butler, Jessica Biel, Dennis Quaid, Uma Thurman, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Judy Greer, will be available on Blu-ray March 5^th, 2013.

PLAYING FOR KEEPS follows a former soccer player who is down-on-his luck (Gerard Butler) and returns home to try to put his life back together and establish a relationship with his son. In order to bond with his kid he ends up coaching his son’s soccer team which puts him on the radar of all the soccer moms as well as his ex-wife (Jessica Biel). Will he be able to make this new life work, or will he have to give it up when a new job comes along?

Even though Gerard Butler has a huge fan base (mostly female I believe), PLAYING FOR KEEPS only opened in a somewhat limited release and grossed a total of just under $13 million. Unfortunately we’ll just have to add this to the “Gerard Butler FAIL” column because it didn’t even reach the budget that was used to make it. Hopefully Gerard Butler’s upcoming film OLYMPUS HAS FALLEN will put him back on track. Check out the trailer for PLAYING FOR KEEPS below.
