Ricky Gervais will join Ty Burrell in The Muppets sequel

It looks like the sequel to the 2011 film THE MUPPETS is starting to get underway as it was earlier reported that Modern Family’s Ty Burrell was set to replace Christoph Waltz as an Interpol agent, and now it looks like Ricky Gervais is on board as well. According to reports Ricky Gervais will be taking on a similar role like the one Jason Segel had in the first film (Jason Segel will not be returning), so hopefully that means that we’ll get to see Ricky Gervais singing and dancing with our favorite Muppets. There’s still no word on what the plot will involve, but does anyone really care since it’s The Muppets?
Ricky Gervais is currently working on the animated film THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS in which he’ll voice the character Mole. Hopefully THE MUPPETS sequel will get his face back up on the big screen because he is quite charming when he wants to be. (THR)
