Robert Pattinson and Guy Pearce star in the first trailer for The Rover

Remember Robert Pattinson? Everyone’s favorite dreamy vampire is back, but this time he’s shedding the heartthrob persona and actually doing what appears to be a quality film. The guy has been out of action for a while, but he has several interesting projects on the horizon, starting with THE ROVER. Other than the style and tone of the film, you’re not going to get much in terms of plot from the trailer, but it’s enough to get me interested. THE ROVER stars Guy Pearce, Robert Pattinson, Scoot McNairy and Nash Edgerton. The film is directed by David Michod from an idea that he and Joel Edgerton had. The film hits theaters this summer.
We don’t have an official synopsis yet, other than the all too brief “10 years following the collapse of society, a man will go to any lengths to take back the one thing that still matters to him.” That doesn’t tell us much, other than the film is going to be pretty gritty and dark.
