Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis bringing Thelma & Louise to Blu-ray

MGM Home Entertainment in partnership with Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment has announced that the classic chick flick THELMA & LOUISE, starring Susan Sarandon, Geena Davis and Brad Pitt, will be released on Blu-ray in a 20th Anniversary edition on February 8, 2011. This 1991 classic from director Ridley Scott follows a pair of women who take off in a 1966 Thunderbird after shooting a rapist. This film won an Academy Award for Best Screenplay and was nominated for Best Director and Best Actress for both Sarandon and Davis.
This is one of those films that you always stop at while flipping through channels and inevitably watch until the dramatic ending. I’m glad it’s finally making its way to Blu-ray and although we don’t know all the specifics of what will be included in the special feature section, we can probably assume the studio will add a little something special in there for the 20th Anniversary edition. 20 years? Has it really been that long?!
