I figured after STAR TREK, Chris Pine would be lining up the roles, but he’s actually been relatively quiet. But now he’s signing on for the romantic comedy THIS MEANS WAR. In it, Pine will play one of two best friends that fall in love with the same woman. Their ensuing conflict escalates into epic battles and eventually to the destruction of New York City. Reese Witherspoon will play the object of their affection. So now that one half of the best friend duo is set, I’m curious to see who they’ll get to star opposite Chris Pine.
McG will be directing this and it actually sounds like it could be decent. It’s definitely a different take on the standard romantic comedy fare and with McG involved, you know he’s going to blow a lot of stuff up.
