Tom Cruise returns in the first Mission: Impossible Rogue Nation teaser trailer

I get nervous when films change their release date, but that usually only applies to when a movie postpones their release date.  Even though I’m a huge fan of the Mission Impossible franchise, I didn’t know what to think of Paramount moving MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: ROGUE NATION from its original December release date to its new July date.  But given that Star Wars is opening in December, it was probably a wise move.  But the fact remained that the film is barely four months away and we hadn’t even seen an official still from the big budget movie.  Well, the wait is over and today Paramount released the first teaser trailer, with a promise of a full trailer tomorrow.  Let’s just say it was well worth the wait as it looks like this is another crazy roller coaster adventure, picking up right where MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: GHOST PROTOCOL left off.

Along with Tom Cruise, MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: ROGUE NATION will star Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton, Simon Pegg, Alec Baldwin, Simon McBurney, Rebecca Ferguson and Ving Rhames.  Christopher McQuarrie is handling directing duties this time around from a script written by Drew Pearce (IRON MAN 3).  MISSION IMPOSSIBLE: ROGUE NATION hits theaters on July 31st.
