Adrianne Palicki in and Bruce Willis rumored for roles in G.I. Joe 2

Paramount just recently announced they were delaying the release of STAR TREK 2, which was scheduled to hit on June 29th, 2012, so it only makes sense that they would move full speed ahead on their other franchise sequel in 2012, G.I. JOE: COBRA STRIKES. Joining the already heavy CW-ish cast is Adrianne Palicki, who was good in TV’s ‘Friday Night Lights’, but had the unfortunate experience of donning the Wonder Woman costume in the pilot that never got picked up. In G.I Joe, she’ll play Lady Jaye, and the only thing I remember about Lady Jaye is that she dated Flint (who will be played by D.J. Cortona). Yeah, I know it’s weird that I remember more about who dated who in the G.I. Joe universe, but that’s just how it is.

There’s also a rumor sweeping the net that Bruce Willis is being targeted for the role of General Joe Colton (the “original” G.I. Joe). Supposedly, Paramount is eager to get a big name in that role and since Bruce Willis has no standards and apparently doesn’t read scripts, he seemed like the obvious choice. So far, the cast of the sequel includes Channing Tatum, Dwayne Johnson, Ray Park, Lee Byong-Hun, RZA and Elodie Yung. Jon Chu is directing the film that hits theaters on August 10th, 2012.
