Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matt Bomer and Matthew McConaughey in a slew of new images from Magic Mike

More photos from the upcoming male stripper film MAGIC MIKE have been released and though I wish there was something new I could say about the film, I’m at a loss. We’ve seen so much advertising in the form of trailers and topless images of Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer and Matthew McConaughey that they are probably permanently burned into all of our brains (though I’m not going to complain too much as there are much worse things for my brain to process). And although I’m anxious to see MAGIC MIKE as well as find out how well it does at the box office (I’m sure Channing Tatum will have no trouble filling seats), I just can’t take the film seriously. I’m sure the male stripping profession is very lucrative and, well serious, but I just want to giggle every time I see a trailer or image from the film. That’s very immature on my part but it is what it is.
MAGIC MIKE is based on true events from Channing Tatum’s days pre-Hollywood hottie, where he worked as a male stripper. I’m sure there’s a lot of exaggeration, but its still a fascinating way for a young actor to get his start and should make for a full film. MAGIC MIKE stars Channing Tatum, Alex Pettyfer, Matthew McConaughey, Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Gabriel Iglesias, Riley Keough, Olivia Munn and Cody Horn. The Steven Soderbergh directed film hits theaters on June 29th, 2012.
