Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore may reteam for another romantic comedy

Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore

It’s easy to make fun of Adam Sandler for his horrible movies and in many regards, he deserves it for choosing such un-challenging work for two decades, but the guy knows what he his and his movies keep making money.  But maybe he’s a little nervous since he’s on the other side of 40 now and his last two movies, JACK AND JILL and THAT’S MY BOY not only got trashed by critics (as usual), but also underperformed at the box office (very unusual).  So the guy needs another hit to remind people that he’s still a box office king.

And what better way to do that than to reteam with an actress that people seem to love him with?  Say what you want about Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore, but they do have chemistry together and their two previous outings, THE WEDDING SINGER and 50 FIRST DATES were better than most of what they do solo.  So the fact that the two might reteam for another romantic comedy isn’t all that irritating.  However, the plot is said to revolve around two single parents that find themselves at a resort for families.  And even though they try to resist, they find themselves attracted to each other.  Meanwhile, their kids learn a valuable life lesson and grow up as their parents find each other.  Yeah, it sounds bad, but Sandler probably wants to tone it down a bit after stretching his comedic limits with his last two.  No word yet on when this untitled comedy will get started.
