Hugh Jackman shows his claws in new images and a new poster from The Wolverine

We’re getting closer, but still no trailer for THE WOLVERINE. However, these new images do show off more stars in the film other than Hugh Jackman as Wolverine. I’m okay with the image above of Wolverine protecting Mariko (Tao Okamoto), but I’m less thrilled with the images of Viper (Svetlana Khodchenkova), mainly because I’m having horrible flashbacks of Uma Thurman as Poison Ivy in BATMAN AND ROBIN. I’m sure director James Mangold knows what he’s doing, but a great trailer would go a long way to dismiss any fears the fanboys have that this will be another X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE.
THE WOLVERINE stars Hugh Jackman, Brian Tee, Will Yun Lee, Hiroyuki Sanada, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Rila Fukushima and James Fraser. The James Mangold directed film is set to open in theaters on July 26th, 2013. (EW)
