Director Gareth Edwards wowed everyone with his film MONSTERS. It was a small budget film featuring two strangers trying to make it through a quarantined “monster zone”. It was great and given the low budget, quite an achievement for Edwards. But now Edwards has a ton of cash, an all-star cast and an iconic creature, so we’ll see what he does with the added toys. The first trailer for the GODZILLA reboot or remake (I’m not sure anymore) is online and it looks to be pretty much what you’d expect from a Godzilla movie that doesn’t star Matthew Broderick. GODZILLA stars Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Bryan Cranston, David Strathairn, Ken Watanabe, Juliette Binoche and Sally Hawkins. The Gareth Edwards directed film opens everywhere May 16th, 2014.
The official GODZILLA synopsis: an epic rebirth to Toho’s iconic Godzilla, this spectacular adventure, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures pits the world’s most famous monster against malevolent creatures who, bolstered by humanity’s scientific arrogance, threaten our very existence. That doesn’t tell us too much, but check out the trailer below for a better idea. And let’s not forget the film stars the two newest Avengers; Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Elizabeth Olsen.
