Anna Faris and Ben Kingsley looking to star with Sacha Baron Cohen in The Dictator

Sacha Baron Cohen is no doubt looking to stir up some controversy with his next film THE DICTATOR. In it, he’ll play a ruthless dictator that visits America, only to find that he’s been replaced by an ignorant look-alike. Distraught, the dictator wanders the city and falls in love with the owner of an organic food store. It looks like Anna Faris has been offered the role of the food store owner and is currently in negotiations for the role. Also, Ben Kingsley is in talks for a role, presumably that of a citizen of the dictator’s homeland. Larry Charles will be directing the craziness.
When it comes to Cohen, I think any movie of his can go either way. BORAT and BRUNO had their moments, but I found both of them a little tiring after a while. The plus side to THE DICTATOR is that there’s a script, so hopefully it won’t revolve around Cohen coming up with crazy antics. I’m just curious as to how many elderly couple are going to go into this thinking it’s a remake of the old Charlie Chaplin film.
