We just posted the trailer for PARANOIA and that’s the first thing I thought of when I watched the first trailer for RUNNER, RUNNER with Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake. An innocent guy getting seduced by money, caught between two sides. But the appeal of Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake is probably far greater than that of Liam Hemsworth and Harrison Ford. Judging by the trailer, RUNNER, RUNNER looks to be a decent thriller and hopefully it will have an unpredictable ending. But for some reason, I can’t help but think Affleck’s character will go to jail and Timberlake’s character will feel guilty at the end. RUNNER, RUNNER stars Ben Affleck, Justin Timberlake, Gemma Arterton, Anthony Mackie, Oliver Cooper, Ben Schwartz, Sam Palladio and David Costabile. The Brad Furman (THE LINCOLN LAWYER) directed film hits theaters on September 27th, 2013.
The official synopsis for RUNNER, RUNNER: Princeton grad student Richie (Justin Timberlake), believing he’s been swindled, travels to Costa Rica to confront online gambling tycoon Ivan Block (Ben Affleck). Richie is seduced by Block’s promise of immense wealth, until he learns the disturbing truth about his benefactor. When the FBI tries to coerce Richie to help bring down Block, Richie faces his biggest gamble ever: attempting to outmaneuver the two forces closing in on him.
