Jamie Bell joins Cillian Murphy and Thandie Newton in The Retreat

You have to like the way Jamie Bell’s career has progressed since he was a kid starring in BILLY ELLIOT. He suffered through a few lackluster films, but then showed up in DEFIANCE and then has some big projects on the way, including Steven Spielberg’s THE ADVENTURES OF TINTIN: THE SECRET OF THE UNICORN and THE EAGLE. I always like it when child actors find success in Hollywood rather than turn to drugs or obscurity. Next up for Jamie Bell is a role in the thriller THE RETREAT for writer and directer Carl Tibbets.
The film is about a married couple that vacation on an island, only to find a soldier wash up on shore to tell them the mainland has been destroyed. Cillian Murphy and Thandie Newton are set for the couple, so Jamie Bell will presumably be playing the soldier that washes up.
