Kirsten Dunst and Alexander Skarsgård prepare for the end of the world in trailer for Melancholia

A trailer for Lars von Trier’s upcoming drama/sci-fi film MELANCHOLIA has been released and it looks both beautiful and depressing. The film follows two sisters and how their already strained relationship progresses as a planet looks to collide with Earth. The film stars Kirsten Dunst, Alexander Skarsgård, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Keifer Sutherland, Charlotte Rampling, John Hurt and Stellan Skarsgård. The film has already picked up some awards at the festivals and will be hitting theaters with a limited release on November 11, 2011. Check out the trailer below.

I think I may be one of the few people out there that doesn’t despise Kirsten Dunst. Somewhere along the way in her career she got this horrible image for either being a terrible actress or a terrible person. I don’t know her personally so I can’t comment there, but I don’t think she’s a bad actress. I’m looking forward to MELANCHOLIA and want to know why everyone hates her so much. Explain please.
