Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Baz Luhrman on the set of The Great Gatsby

Filming is underway in Australia for Baz Luhrman’s remake of THE GREAT GATSBY and we already have our first images of Leonardo DiCaprio and Tobey Maguire on set, driving around in a very spiffy car (sorry, I don’t know my cars well enough to tell you what kind it is). Baz Luhrman is chilling out in the back seat with someone I’ve never seen before. I don’t remember much about the original, only that “white” was the predominant color and it seems Luhrman is going to add some of his signature style to the story of a wealthy man that throws parties to be close to the woman he’s in love with. I’m just wondering how he’s going to fit in a musical number, because you know he’s going to.

THE GREAT GATSBY stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire, Carey Mulligan, Joel Edgerton and Elizabeth Debicki. The film is due to hit theaters in 2012.
