Mel Gibson looking to star in Shane Black’s Cold Warrior

Mel Gibson is back! I love the fact that he’s choosing more roles to star in. I know he’s had some personal issues and done/said some stuff that he regrets, but the guy is a great actor and has one of the most captivating screen presences of any actor working today. After he gets done filming HOW I SPENT MY SUMMER VACATION, he will likely segue into COLD WARRIOR, which was written by his LETHAL WEAPON screenwriter, Shane Black.
The film follows an ex-CIA agent that’s called out of retirement when a terrorism threat is linked to Russia. It also says he will be teaming with a “younger agent”, so this has buddy-cop written all over it. That would make sense because Black was responsible for writing what is arguably the best buddy-cop movie ever in LETHAL WEAPON.
