Richard Dreyfuss and Piranha 3D coming to Blu-ray

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that the campy horror film PIRANHA 3D, starring Elisabeth Shue, Richard Dreyfuss, Ving Rhames and Jerry O’Connell, will be released on Blu-ray in both a 2D version and 3D version on January 11, 2011. Although two versions will be offered, the 3D version appears to be missing some of the special features. It should also be noted that Sony is dropping the 3D from the title of the film for the Blu-ray release, so make note of that if you are rushing out to buy this classic.

The film follows a small town that experiences a tremor under their local lake that releases prehistoric piranha. This of course happens during the week of Spring Break which makes this campy horror film oh so much more fun. Even though this is advertised as a horror film, it has just as much if not more cheese than your late night B-movie horror film. Still a fun ride though! Special features for the film include:
