The new, full-length trailer for ROBIN HOOD is out and this time we learn more about the story, although to be fair, it’s a Robin Hood story and I think we all have a basic idea of what happens. We do see some more action scenes and more of the supporting characters and it looks like director Ridley Scott is really going for a historical epic feel for this. The film stars Russell Crowe as Robin Hood, Cate Blanchett as Maid Marian, Matthew Macfadyen as the Sheriff of Nottingham, Kevin Durand as Little John and Mark Strong as Sir Godfrey. The film hits theaters on May 14th.
This film has all of the ingredients to be something I would love; great cast, historical epic, great director, elaborate sets, etc., but just can’t get into it. It looks too much like every other Robin Hood movie we’ve seen and especially similar to ROBIN HOOD: PRINCE OF THIEVES with Kevin Costner.
