GANGSTER SQUAD is easily one of my most anticipated films of 2012, so even a snazzy promo pic is exciting to me. Below we get an official look at a handful of characters that make up the titular ‘Gangster Squad’ and judging by the pic, it seems like director Reuben Fleischer is determined to make this as stylish as possible. If there’s one thing that has me concerned, it’s the fact that Fleischer hasn’t done a movie on this scale before (he previously did ZOMBIELAND and 30 MINUTES OR LESS). But everything looks pretty good so far.
The pic itself seems to showcase the Los Angeles City Hall more than anything, thus blurring the actors’ faces a little bit, but from left to right we have Michael Pena, Ryan Gosling, Robert Patrick, Anthony Mackie and Josh Brolin. As if that wasn’t enough, the film also stars Sean Penn, Emma Stone, Nick Nolte, Giovanni Ribisi, Holt McCallany, Frank Grillo, Mirielle Enos and Troy Garity. The film hits theaters everywhere on October 19th, 2012.
