JOHN CARTER may end up being a spectacular movie, but after seeing the first two trailers, the only movie that comes to mind is Kevin Costner’s WATERWORLD. I know the two films have nothing in common (other than extraordinary budgets), but JOHN CARTER just reminds me of the 1995 film. It might have something to do with he crazy amount of money Disney has poured into JOHN CARTER or maybe how creating a world from scratch is tough to do in two hours, but something tells me that the film’s investors are going to have a hard time recouping that $300 million.
The film stars Taylor Kitsch, Bryan Cranston, Mark Strong, Thomas Hayden Church, Lynn Collins, Ciaran Hinds, Dominic West, Willem Dafoe and Samantha Morton. The Andrew Stanton (WALL-E) directed film hits theaters everywhere on March 9th, 2012.
