The Beatles are great, there’s just no getting around it. But some Beatles fans are hardcore and consider the subject sacred ground, so they may hate this project. Or they may love it after I tell you what it’s about.
MEAN GIRLS director Mark Waters wants to make a comedy about two hardcore Beatles fans who discover a time machine. And of course they do what anyone who is a fan of the Fab Four would do, they go back in time to prevent John Lennon from meeting Yoko Ono and thus rewriting history. See, now you’re a little intrigued. The film will be called GET BACK (after the song of course) and right now it’s in the negotiation stages but should start shooting sometime this summer. Not gonna lie, this sounds exciting even if it does sound too similar to THE HOT TUB TIME MACHINE, but I’ll watch it anyway.
