Transformers: Dark of the Moon, starring Shia LaBeouf and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, hits Blu-ray in September

Taking a page right out of the AVATAR playbook, TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON is coming out on Blu-ray in two separate, yet simultaneously announced editions.  The first is a bare bones release, that will hit Blu-ray in a mere 21 days; September 30th (in my 7 years following DVD and Blu-ray release announcements, I don’t know if I’ve ever seen an announcement for a big film with this late of a notice).  But for those of you wanting more than just the bare minimum from your Blu-rays, know that there will be a deluxe 3D version hitting stores a few months later.  According to Michael Bay, the deluxe version promises to have a ton of special features.  Read his official statement below:

“For fans who can’t wait, the Blu-ray release in September will deliver an awesome ride with the movie in stunning 1080p high definition and a 7.1 Dolby TrueHD soundtrack that was personally overseen by our phenomenal supervising sound mixer just for the Blu-ray,” said director Michael Bay. “As you know, we put a lot of effort into the 3D experience for the theatrical release and I want to make sure we get it right for home viewing—and that process takes time. So stay tuned for an even more incredible release that will include the film on Blu-ray 3D and loads of bonus features.”
