Turbo, featuring the voice of Ryan Reynolds, will be available on 3D Blu-ray in November

DreamWorks has announced that their latest animated and family-oriented film TURBO, directed by David Soren and featuring the voice talents of: Ryan Reynolds, Paul Giamatti, Michael Pena, Samuel L. Jackson, Luis Guzman, Bill Hader, Snoop Dogg and Maya Rudolph, will be available on 3D Blu-ray, Blu-ray and DVD on November 12, 2013.

TURBO follows a misfit snail named Turbo (voiced by Ryan Reynolds) who has the need for speed and dreams of racing in the Indy 500 someday. When a freak accident gives him the ability to race at speeds up to 200 mph, he realizes his dream, but first he has to escape the California taco-stand guy (voiced by Michael Pena) who has captured Turbo and his brother Chet (Paul Giamatti) for his snail races.

TURBO opened one weekend before the other big animated feature of the summer (MONSTERS UNIVERSITY), so it’s not surprising that it was left in the dust. However, one should never underestimate the power of a kid’s movie over the summer, because even though MONSTERS UNIVERSITY ruled the box office, TURBO did bring in a respectable $81 million. It sounds pretty cute, and who doesn’t need another kid’s movie around for entertainment?
