Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones' Men in Black 3 facing more delays

Posted by: Kristy Sturdivant

To be completely honest, until I read this piece of news I had forgotten that MEN IN BLACK 3 was even in the works. In fact, the last time we even reported anything about it was last October and a lot more relevant things have happened since. But that’s beside the point, turns out that MEN IN BLACK 3 is facing all sorts of script problems. After the film had started production, a new writer was brought in to polish up the script and then that whole process happened a second time. The film will focus on time travel and was shot in two parts: present day and sometime in 1968, so the film was going to be shot in two parts as well. The first part supposedly was shot at the end of last year and then was supposed to start shooting again in February. However, due to continual script changes, the second half won’t start shooting again until March. I’m sure that I don’t have to tell all of you intelligent readers, but when a script or film has this many problems, that most likely leads to a craptastic film.

MEN IN BLACK 3 (or 3D- there’s still no official title) stars Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, Josh Brolin, Alec Baldwin, Jemaine Clement, Nicole Scherzinger and Emma Thompson. Even though it was rumored that Betty White had joined the cast, that myth has since been busted. The third film in the franchise is set to open May 25, 2012 and is directed by Barry Sonnenfeld.
