Judy Greer and Portia Doubleday join Chloe Moretz in the Carrie remake

Judy Greer and Portia Doubleday

The popular Stephen King adaptation CARRIE is getting a new makeover and it looks like a couple of new actresses have been added to the cast. Judy Greer (13 GOING ON THRITY, THE VILLAGE) and Portia Doubleday (YOUTH IN REVOLT) will be joining Chloe Moretz and Alex Russell in the remake as Miss Collins the gym teacher and Chris Hargensen who was the bad girl. Since I’m not terribly familiar with the original CARRIE I can’t give you a lot of details about the characters, but I do know the gym teacher was the lady who comforted Carrie during her first menstrual cycle when she has a meltdown.

For those unfamiliar with the story, CARRIE follows a high school girl (Chloe Moretz) who has a tough home life and when she develops telekinetic powers she uses them on her fellow students who have pushed her a bit too far. CARRIE is being directed by Kimberly Pierce and is set to hit theaters on March 15, 2013. (Deadline)
