True Blood's Alexander Skarsgård, Brooklyn Decker and Liam Neeson hit the high seas in the trailer for Battleship

The first trailer for next year’s big Universal Studios blockbuster BATTLESHIP was at the beginning of a film I caught last night and I must say that I had quite the gut reaction. Actually I think there is a very good chance you will have the same reaction after you watch the trailer below. My first thoughts were, “Wait, didn’t we just see a TRANSFORMERS film this summer? Is this some kind of a joke? I didn’t think Michael Bay was directing this film…” Yes, these three questions were the first things that popped into my head during this quick two minute trailer, I’d love to see what you guys think after watching it for yourselves.
The film follows a fleet of ships that do battle with an unknown species on the high seas. BATTLESHIP is being directed by Peter Berg and stars: Liam Neeson, Alexander Skarsgård, Taylor Kitsch, Josh Pence, Brooklyn Decker and Rihanna and it opens in theaters on May 18, 2012.
